清溪鬆蔭圖

Clear River Pine Trees

This is a reproduction of an ancient mountain scene. The original artwork dates back to the early-1500s. I believe the original is in the possession of the National Museum in Taipei (though the Guangdong Provincial Museum in mainland China claims they have the original). Surely it is not for sale, but the price would be in the $70,000 range if it was. This reproduction is about $69,900 cheaper - lol.

The title is 清溪松蔭圖 which means clear/pure stream/river pine trees picture.

The original artist was Tang Yin (唐寅,1470–1524), better known by his courtesy name Tang Bohu (唐伯虎). He was a Chinese scholar, painter, calligrapher, and poet of the Ming Dynasty whose life story has become a part of Chinese folklore. More about him at the The Chinese Online Museum

There is also a long ancient poem written along the top of the artwork. The poem text is 長松百尺蔭清溪,倒影波間勢轉低。恰似春雷未驚蟄,髯龍頭角暫皤泥。
This is hard to translate but suffice to say, it's a poem written in classical Chinese about pine trees, mountains, rivers, and one's experience with all three.

The special handmade tea-stained paper gives this a lovely antique look. Even though this is a partial print that is finished with some handwork, each one is unique because of the handwork and mottling in the handmade paper.
